The Start

The Sewing Story began about 4 months ago and I have been going crazy.
I have now a massive stash of patterns - Thanks to many Spotlight Sales.... more material .... just in case... and have a new Sewing Machine to show I am taking this sewing thing seriously.
I have sold two machines, a spinning wheel and 2 looms in order to make room for this new craft passion. The Bernina B710

But it all started with Vogue 1312 , relatively easy but and have worn a few times, jury is still out about the bodice that seems to squarish.

So the journey continued and many more sewn items, but as I am getting more accustomed to pattens and different makes I have learnt to change bodices so there is not so much fabric at the front neck, and realised that non form patterns (non-fitting eg : Darts / Princess Seam) do not look so great on me.
I have decided that I need to record my making experiences and document patterns / fabric and fit .... so the visual form of a Blog I am hoping will work. Butterick 5748 got two attempts - still have to do something about that neck!!

So now I am on to skirts and armed with quite a few different styles (thanks to Spotlight after Xmas Pattern Sale) am ready for a challenge.
I am in love with Alison Willoughby skirts , www.alisonwilloughby.com  and bought her book 49 1/2 skirts but just struggled with the  precise match up with buttons or tabs so have bought some straight warp skirt patterns to give a go.
Vogue 8928 and 8887 I'll start with.
